Lil are the world's 1st & only ZERO-CARBON carbon certified packaging operation. This means our scope 1&2 is nil and we entirely offset our scope 3. Our Cambridge based manufacturing HQ means the company is disconnected from mains gas & electricity off the grid. Far more than simple carbon neutrality.

We are also proud to be the world's most efficient ecom box manufacturer, producing the highest quality at speeds 40% faster than the competition. At Lil, we believe that eCom packaging would not evolve without our ingenious inventions.

Background : We’re the guys who invented the packaging Amazon uses today and our company enjoys supply to the largest number of Internet Retailers: YOOX Net-A-Porter, John Lewis, Boots, Debenhams, Charlotte Tilbury, Sony, BEAUTY BAY, Samsung, Ted Baker, SpaceNK, Bloom & Wild, Clarins, Tiffany, Hotel Chocolat, Hawes & Curtis, Moonpig, Goldsmiths, Fired Earth, Whittard, UGG…. & Amazon. Typically we’re used to increase ecom fulfilment speed 20% using our pop-up peel & seal packaging.
We are Europe’s largest independent producer of ecom packaging, on a mission to eradicate plastics from ecommerce. The sustainable paperboard inventions of Lil’s joint MD’s Fred Lill (Sales) and brother Barry Lill (Operations) have substituted 30,000 tonnes of single-use plastics from the internet retailing sector. The 3 most famed inventions being:
1. 2008, Lil envelope - paper-based alternative to Jiffy bags - hailed as the 21st century equivalent to the Jiffy bag, saved the World's largest Internet Retailer over £15m per annum in Royal Mail postage costs while increasing fulfilment speed by 25%.
2. 2014, Lil Breezebox - a paper voidfill integrated box to eradicate need for polystyrene/plastic voidfill.
3. 2018, Lil bag - the worlds first kraft-paper alternative to polythene mailbags.
We are 1 of only 500 global signatories of 'The Climate Pledge'  to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2040, 10 years before The Paris Agreement.
